About Me

My love for plants began in childhood, long before I ever imagined owning a plant shop of my own. The very first plant I remember caring for was a humble sansevieria—a tough, loyal starter plant that quietly taught me patience, consistency, and how deeply rewarding it can be to nurture something living. That spark never faded. Over the years, it grew into a lifelong passion for cultivating, learning, and sharing the joy that plants bring into our spaces and our lives.

Today, that passion has blossomed into both a professional calling and a community mission. Verde Haven is located in a lovingly restored vintage gas station turned plant shop in Comfort, Texas, nestled in the heart of the beautiful Texas Hill Country. Our space is as unique as the plants inside it—welcoming, inspiring, and full of wonder for growers of all experience levels.

Education sits at the core of everything I do. Since 2020, I have taught—and continue to teach—silversmithing classes, sharing creative skills and hands-on learning with students who are curious to make and explore. That same heart for education flows directly into my work with plants. I love helping others learn to grow confidently, offering guidance, workshops, demonstrations, and daily encouragement to turn plant interest into lasting success.

Beyond the shop, I proudly serve as President of the Magic Knight African Violet Society, supporting growers throughout the greater San Antonio area, and I sit on the Board of Directors for the African Violet Society of America, helping promote education and appreciation for African violets nationwide. Locally, I’m also honored to be a member of the Comfort Garden Club, staying deeply connected to our Hill Country gardening community.

At Verde Haven, my goal is simple: to create a space where curiosity is welcomed, knowledge is shared, and everyone—whether bringing home their first plant or expanding a collector’s dream—feels supported on their growing journey.
